A law firm in New York City is looking for a skilled Litigation Attorney to join its accomplished legal team. This role presents an opportunity to advocate for clients in insurance-related disputes, tackling challenging legal issues and driving favorable outcomes. Core Responsibilities:

  • Client Advocacy – Represent clients in insurance litigation cases, ensuring they receive fair treatment in disputes involving coverage denials, claim delays, and bad faith actions.

  • Legal Strategy & Analysis – Examine policy language, case facts, and insurance practices to construct compelling legal arguments that support client claims.

  • Litigation & Courtroom Presence – Handle motions, pleadings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings, delivering strong oral arguments and evidence presentations.

  • Negotiation & Settlement – Engage in productive settlement discussions with insurers and opposing counsel, aiming for the most favorable resolutions for clients.

  • Research & Legal Drafting – Prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and court documents, ensuring thorough legal reasoning and compliance with jurisdictional requirements.

  • Client Communication & Case Management – Maintain ongoing communication with clients, keeping them informed on case progress and legal options while efficiently managing multiple cases.

  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with fellow attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff, fostering a cooperative approach to case preparation and litigation success.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education & LicensingJuris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school; must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.

  • Experience Level1 to 6 years of litigation experience, preferably involving insurance disputes, civil litigation, or related practice areas.

  • Legal Knowledge – Strong grasp of civil procedure, litigation strategies, and insurance law.

  • Advocacy & Negotiation Skills – Ability to persuasively argue court cases and negotiate effective settlements.

  • Written & Verbal Communication – Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Case Management & Organization – Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining a high level of detail and strategic oversight.
