This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive legal services to victims of gender-based violence and work towards ending gender violence through direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. The Senior Staff Attorney will handle uncontested and contested matrimonial and family court actions, mentor and supervise attorneys and volunteers, and collaborate with other domestic violence advocates. This role also involves developing and conducting trainings, building relationships with partner organizations, and representing Sanctuary for Families on task forces and committees. The ideal candidate will have a . and admission to the New York State Bar, a minimum of 5 years legal experience (preferably in the public interest sector), and past experience in family and matrimonial law. They should also have a strong understanding of gender-based oppression and a motivation for social change against gender-based violence.
