# Intake Attorney

Organization is seeking an Intake Attorney to join our team. The Intake Attorney is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the organization's intake team and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's intake process. This position coordinates intake operations; and engages in casework and litigation.

## Responsibilities

- Provide oversight, planning, and strategy for the organization's intake unit and staff.
- Provide direct supervision to intake staff and oversight of all intake requests.
- Conduct legal analysis for intake requests, coordinate distribution of intake requests to legal staff.
- Maintain assigned caseload providing organization clients with legal services including advice, counsel, and legal representation in informal and formal advocacy settings.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all substantive areas of law within the organization's case acceptance priorities.
- Develop and maintain legal practice skills including legal research and writing, negotiation, case management, and administrative, trial, and appellate practice.
- Maintain and make recommendations about updates, as necessary, to intake policies and procedures.
- Provide reports for the organization Board of Directors.
- Provide data for and draft agency annual performance reports.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Admitted to, or eligible for admission to, . District Court for the District of Rhode Island, and . Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
- Commitment to the mission of the P&A and to the civil rights of all people.
- Understanding of and commitment to client directed advocacy.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication, and computer literacy.
- Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
