Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing personal injury practice. This role involves managing cases from start to finish, including evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and litigating in court. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping clients secure justice and compensation for their injuries while contributing to the growth of the firm's personal injury practice.

Duties:

  • Handle personal injury cases from intake through resolution, including negotiation and litigation.
  • Evaluate potential claims, offer legal counsel, and develop case strategies.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and gather relevant evidence to support cases.
  • Manage and update case files, ensuring timely communication and case progress.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with legal support teams to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and/or Missouri (required).
  • Proficiency in personal injury law, tort law, wrongful death, medical terminology, and civil litigation.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized, with a strong ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred but not required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and/or Missouri (required).

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently and manage deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to develop strategic case plans.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not mandatory).
