Foley & Lardner, a leading law firm with a strong presence in the Midwest, is seeking an Environmental Law Associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our dynamic Environmental Practice Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney to work on a variety of environmental matters and gain valuable experience in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The preferred location for this position is Milwaukee, but we are also open to considering candidates in Chicago.

As an Environmental Law Associate at Foley & Lardner, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of regulatory compliance matters under federal environmental laws and their state equivalents. This will include counseling clients on government enforcement proceedings and advising on environmental aspects of corporate transactions. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience or a strong interest in these areas, and prior experience at a relevant agency (such as EPA/DOJ or WDNR/ILEPA or AG) is highly preferred.

In addition to working with senior partners and clients, the candidate must also be able to multitask and handle a variety of matters simultaneously. A positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and exceptional work ethic are essential qualities for success in this role. We are open to considering candidates from adjacent practice areas, such as real estate or energy, at a higher seniority level who are willing to be trained in our specialty environmental practice.

To be considered for this position, you must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member of the Bar in the jurisdiction(s) where you are admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar coinciding with the office of hire will be a condition of employment. If you are interested in joining our team and learning how to be a true broad-based Environmental lawyer with a path to partnership, we encourage you to apply.

At Foley & Lardner, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, protected veteran status, marital status, domestic partner status, or medical condition. For applicants in our California offices, we will also consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records pursuant to local ordinances.
