Responsibilities:

- Advise clients on a range of US-focused privacy, security, and other data-related compliance counseling.
- Guide clients in determining priorities, risks, and implementation of data protection compliance programs.
- Manage compliance projects such as risk and gap assessments.
- Develop policies and procedures, including privacy policies, security policies, incident response plans, and vendor contracting templates.
- Negotiate contracts and M&A deals.
- Manage complex privacy and cybersecurity workstreams, including supervision of junior lawyers.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of practical privacy/data protection/cybersecurity counseling experience.
- Excellent management/organizational skills and experience building teams.
- Ability to prioritize workload, exercise good judgment, and provide practical advice based on risks.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex matters.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Candidates with large law firm experience preferred (boutique specialists may be considered).
- Technical experience relevant to cybersecurity counseling viewed positively but not mandatory.
- Certified Information Privacy Professionals are preferred but not mandatory, including CIPP/US, CIPT, and CIPM certifications.
- Must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying.
