Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Senior Associate to join its team in Philadelphia, PA. This attorney will represent and advise insurers on a wide range of coverage matters, including commercial general liability, commercial automobile, personal umbrella, freight forwarder, and professional liability policies. The role offers opportunities to work on complex coverage and bad faith litigation and provides direct client interaction with significant responsibility for legal matters.

Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Represent and advise insurers on a variety of coverage issues, including general liability, automobile, personal umbrella, freight forwarder, and professional liability policies.
  • Handle complex insurance coverage litigation and bad faith claims.
  • Provide strategic guidance to insurance clients on coverage disputes and risk management.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including opinions, motions, and pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters.
  • Assume responsibility for cases and collaborate with other attorneys and legal teams.
  • Engage in direct communication with clients and third parties to manage cases effectively.
  • Assist in mentoring junior associates and contribute to the firm’s overall success.

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and in good standing.
  • Proven experience handling complex coverage matters.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • High initiative and the ability to take responsibility for matters from start to finish.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills with a focus on insurance coverage and bad faith claims.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
