Job Overview:

A law firm in New York City is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Litigation Labor Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing their own cases with collaboration and support from Team Leaders, handling various aspects of construction litigation, and demonstrating expertise in Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).

Job Details:

Duties:

  • Manage cases independently, handling day-to-day tasks with collaboration and support from Team Leaders.
  • Report to clients and carriers on case developments.
  • Appear in Court for conferences and motions.
  • Ensure compliance with discovery requirements.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Coordinate medical examinations as needed.
  • Prepare and file motions related to construction litigation.

Requirements:

  • Varying degrees of construction litigation experience, particularly in defense work (construction, premises, products liability, and general liability cases).
  • Substantive experience in handling cases related to Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Strong experience in handling contractual indemnification issues between parties.

Education:

  • New York Bar admission is required.
  • New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars are a plus.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in construction law or labor law are desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong deposition experience in Labor Law cases.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
