Job Title: Investigation Specialist I

Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in legal or paralegal work, investigative work, human relations, human resources, regulatory inspections, social work, personnel, education, counseling, affirmative action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), or working in the juvenile or adult criminal justice system
- Experience conducting fact-finding interviews with members of the public and writing detailed, analytical reports or analyses
- Experience dealing with and analyzing large amounts of documentation

Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent investigations about discrimination cases within the State of Florida
- Gather and record accurate and thorough information through interviews and correspondence with parties involved
- Conduct research and collect facts about assigned complaints
- Write investigative reports within statutory timeframes
- Testify and appear before Commission panels and in civil court proceedings and administrative hearings
- Use deductive reasoning and analytical skills to determine validity of information
- Maintain strict confidentiality and make independent decisions
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in legal or paralegal work, investigative work, human relations, human resources, regulatory inspections, social work, personnel, education, counseling, affirmative action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), or working in the juvenile or adult criminal justice system
- Experience conducting fact-finding interviews and writing detailed, analytical reports or analyses
- Experience dealing with and analyzing large amounts of documentation
