Benjamin R. Matthews & Associates, LLC is a busy consumer bankruptcy law firm seeking a Part-Time Attorney to handle §341 Meetings of Creditors and Chapter 13 confirmation hearings in the District of South Carolina.

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys courtroom appearances and client interaction without the demands of full case management, billing, or business development.

Position Overview

The Part-Time Hearing Attorney will serve as the firm’s courtroom representative for routine bankruptcy appearances. Preparation, filings, and client onboarding are handled by our team—your primary responsibility is showing up prepared, professional, and client-focused.

Primary Responsibilities

• Appear at §341 Meetings of Creditors on behalf of firm clients
• Appear at Chapter 13 confirmation hearings and routine court proceedings
• Address trustee questions and minor issues using firm-provided case notes
• Communicate outcomes to the firm after hearings
• Identify cases that require escalation to a supervising attorney

Qualifications

• . from an accredited law school
• Active South Carolina bar license
• Experience with consumer bankruptcy strongly preferred
• Comfortable appearing in court and speaking with trustees and clients
• Professional, reliable, and punctual
