Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a labor and employment attorney with a strong background in employment law audit and compliance work. This position involves assisting employers with internal and external audits, wage and hour compliance, and employment-related investigations. Location:

Duties:

  • Assist employers with internal and external audits and investigations conducted by agencies such as the California Labor Commissioner, . Department of Labor, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct internal audits of pay practices and state and federal wage and hour compliance for employers.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct internal leave and accommodation policy and process audits.
  • Handle employment-related litigation and represent clients in administrative proceedings.
  • Draft and review employment policies and agreements to ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on compliance and audits.
  • Extensive experience handling investigations and audits by state and federal agencies.
  • Significant litigation experience in employment law matters.
  • Strong ability to provide strategic legal counsel to clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and multiple clients efficiently.
