Part-time Data Privacy Counsel The candidate will work as a member of the firm's Data Privacy Team to support all aspects of the work of the firm's Data Protection Officer (DPO). Work with members of the Office of the General Counsel and other key stakeholders to foster a strong culture of data protection compliance throughout the firm, while providing pragmatic and business-focused advice. Identify and assist with the implementation of country-specific privacy developments and support the Data Privacy Team with various global and regional projects relating to the maintenance and development of the firm's Data Privacy Programme. Assist the DPO with developing and maintaining the firm's Data Privacy Programme to ensure on-going compliance with privacy laws globally. Advise on applicable US state privacy laws and regulations including the CCPA/CPRA. Monitor US legislative and regulatory changes in data protection, privacy and related fields. Support business teams and other key stakeholders with privacy issues in contract negotiations with clients and vendors, including documentation such as data processing agreements and data transfer agreements. Carry out data protection impact assessments, data transfer assessments and other data protection risk assessments. Draft policies and guidance to facilitate the Data Privacy Programme. Advise stakeholders of concerns or risks identified in new initiatives, projects, or systems and propose mitigation strategies to address those concerns or risks. Assist with data subject rights requests, including subject access requests. Perform other related duties. Support training and communications planning, including development and implementation of training courses related to data privacy. Coordinate and enable compliance monitoring activities, including reporting and analytics, pertaining to data privacy. Work with cross-functional business teams, including Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Security to address potential compliance issues and achieve privacy program initiatives and provide as-needed support to leaders and stakeholders across the firm.
