Job Overview: As an Associate Attorney in our Workers' Compensation practice group, you will be responsible for file review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims, legal research and drafting of various legal documents, representing clients at depositions and hearings, trial preparation and attendance, and expert witness retention and evaluation. This is a full-time position with an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours. Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must have at least 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney, a . degree from an ABA-approved law school, and be admitted to practice in the state of New York (admission in other states is a plus). You should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent research abilities, and exceptional written and oral communication skills. A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and in a team environment are also important for this role. Responsibilities: • File review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims • Extensive legal research and drafting of client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals and appellate briefs • Regularly representing clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board • Trial preparation and attendance • Expert witness retention and evaluation Benefits: We offer an innovative financial incentive bonus program, proactive support and training for marketing objectives, and excellent benefits including a 401k match.
