A law firm in Rochester, NY, is seeking a dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in representing clients in court, arbitration, and mediation. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in New York State and have 2+ years of experience in general commercial and civil litigation. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in motion practice, appellate practice, creditors’ rights, or labor and employment matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal analysis to support case strategies.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Handle motion practice and participate in appellate proceedings when necessary.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on litigation matters and case progress.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take ownership of assigned projects and cases.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in general commercial and civil litigation.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.
  • Experience representing clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Preference for candidates with motion practice and appellate practice experience.
  • Experience in creditors’ rights or labor and employment matters is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines.
