Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Plano, TX, is seeking motivated attorneys with 2 to 10 years of experience to join its litigation team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to manage independent case files, engage in motion practice, and participate in courtroom proceedings, including depositions and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment while enjoying autonomy and hands-on experience in federal and state court litigation.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in federal and state court proceedings, including written discovery, depositions, and drafting/arguing motions.
  • Participate in settlement conferences, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Review and evaluate cases for liability, settlement potential, and success likelihood in motions or trials.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements, with occasional travel required for court appearances across the country.
  • Collaborate with co-counsel, opposing counsel, and clients to ensure efficient case management.
  • Advise clients on business practices to minimize litigation risks and limit liability exposure.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas or other states, including California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, or Nevada.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 2-10 years of legal experience, particularly in litigation.
  • Knowledge or experience in consumer law and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in Texas or other applicable states (California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, or Nevada).
