Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Experience Information:

Minimum of three years experience as a litigation paralegal. Large law firm experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

As a litigation paralegal, you will be responsible for supporting the firm's team of litigation attorneys by performing a variety of duties, including:

Preparing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions and other trial preparation;
Conducting legal research using Lexis and/or Westlaw;
Communicating with clients, courts, and outside counsel;
Managing and organizing case files;
Assisting with trial preparation and attending trials;
Drafting and proofreading legal documents;
Managing and adhering to strict project deadlines;
Working on multiple projects simultaneously;
Learning and performing new tasks as needed;
Asking questions and seeking information to complete projects and tasks; and
Maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Skills and Knowledge:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and knowledge:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
Strong analytical, drafting and proofreading skills;
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
Ability to work independently and on a team;
Strong time management and project management skills;
Proficiency in MS Office programs;
Experience with Lexis and/or Westlaw;
Knowledge of real estate related litigation and bankruptcy a plus; and
A college degree and/or paralegal certificate a plus.

Education and Experience:

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following education and experience:

Minimum of three years experience as a litigation paralegal;
A college degree and/or paralegal certificate is a plus;
Experience in real estate related litigation and bankruptcy is a plus;
Large law firm experience is a plus; and
Proficiency in MS Office programs.
