If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Attorney with Data Strategy and Privacy Experience at our law firm.

At our law firm, we are dedicated to providing top-notch legal services to our clients, and our Data Strategy, Security, and Privacy team is at the forefront of advising clients on the development of enterprise privacy programs and navigating the complex landscape of privacy and data use laws. As an Associate with our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and cutting-edge projects, including counseling clients on the operational impact of draft and newly-enacted privacy legislation, providing guidance on consumer disclosures and internal policy documents related to privacy and data use, and assessing privacy and security risks in product design, operational use cases, and proposed business partnerships.

In addition to these responsibilities, you may also have the opportunity to assist our team with incident response and transactional diligence from time-to-time. We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be responsible for drafting memos and communicating complex legal concepts in a clear and business-friendly manner.

This position is open to candidates with 2-4 years of legal experience who are admitted to the bar in their state of practice. Familiarity with the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act and other comprehensive US state privacy laws is preferred, and prior technology experience, such as software development or employment at a tech company, is helpful. CIPP/US certification is also a plus.

- The law firm is located in multiple cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tampa, and Washington DC.
- The salary range for this position is $225,000 - $310,000/yr, depending on qualifications and experience.
- This salary range is specific to the following locations: New York State, New York City, Colorado, and California.
- An individual's actual compensation will depend on their qualifications and experience.

Job Requirements:

- 2-4 years legal experience
- Admission to bar in state of practice
- Experience providing legal advice on privacy and/or data strategy issues
- Familiarity with US state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act, and international privacy and security laws, such as COPPA, GDPR, BIPA, GLBA, and VPPA
- Strong communication skills, including ability to draft memos in business-friendly language
- Prior technology experience, such as software development or employment at a tech company
- CIPP/US certification preferred
