Job Overview: A law firm in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with expertise in family law to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree, be an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar, and possess a strong passion for serving clients.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents regarding their cases
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage the workload of cases efficiently
  • Independently handle complex child custody disputes and divorces, including issues of domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health
  • Provide empathy and compassion for clients while empowering them to take control of their lives
  • Represent clients in court including motions, hearings, and trials
  • Negotiate settlements in formal mediation or informal settings
  • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions
  • Manage and collaborate with team members including Paralegals and other professional staff

Requirements:

  • Family Law experience
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree
  • An active member in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and the team
  • Demonstrated a history of excellence in their career and a passion for serving clients
  • Basic computer hardware and software knowledge, preferably in Microsoft Office: Excel / Outlook / Word
  • Advanced knowledge in client confidentiality, legal administration, legal compliance, litigation, administrative writing, documentation, word processing, verbal communication, and client relations
  • Ability to understand complex legal documents/forms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Zoom and Video Conferencing

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
