Job Description

As an Associate Attorney at Litchfield Cavo, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of litigation and conducting legal research and analysis. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple cases in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in civil litigation defense, with additional experience in areas such as insurance defense, employment, banking, intellectual property, or construction litigation. Must be licensed to practice in New Jersey state and federal courts, with additional state admissions a plus.

Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and analysis competently and efficiently
- Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions
- Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts
- Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status report correspondence
- Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances

Qualifications

- Must be licensed to practice in New Jersey state and federal courts, with additional state admissions a plus
- Minimum of four years of experience in civil litigation defense, additional experience in other areas a plus
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a busy environment
- Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures
