Job Overview: A law firm in Dallas, TX, seeks a skilled Insurance Defense Coverage Attorney to represent clients in court and government agencies, specializing in first-party coverage claims for property damage and defense against Chapter 541/542 claims. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor, a Texas Bar License, and at least 3 years of litigation experience focusing on Insurance Defense.

Job Details:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
• Present evidence to represent clients in civil litigation.
• Handle first-party coverage claims for property damage.
• Defend Chapter 541/542 claims.
• Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during trials.
• Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
• Prepare legal briefs, and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Examine legal data to determine the advisability of defending lawsuits.
• Evaluate findings, develop strategies, and prepare arguments for case presentations.
• Advise clients on business transactions, claim liability, and legal rights.
• Gather evidence through client and witness interviews.
• Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
• Supervise legal assistants.
• Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree.
• 3 years of experience in litigation, specifically in Insurance Defense.
• 3 years of experience handling coverage matters.
• Texas Bar License.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Insurance Defense laws and regulations.
• Excellent courtroom and trial management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Clio.

Certifications:

• Texas Bar License.
