The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a Child Support Officer III to join our Child Support Division (CSD) in Temple, Texas. This is a full-time position with a standard work week of 40 hours. The Child Support Officer III will be responsible for conducting investigations to locate absent parents, establishing paternity, obtaining court orders for financial support and health care coverage for children, enforcing child support orders, and responding to customer inquiries. The salary for this position is $3, per month and is a Grade 15 position with the B salary administration plan.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed investigations to locate absent parents, establish paternity, and obtain court orders for financial support and health care coverage for children

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in child support, credit collections, investigations, legal assistance, customer service, or IV-A eligibility
• One year of experience in a related field
• Knowledge of investigative practices and techniques
• Strong interviewing and negotiating skills
• Proficiency in using a computer for word-processing and data entry
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Sound judgment and effective decision-making abilities
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service
• Must be able to work in person at assigned OAG location and travel up to 15% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of investigative practices and techniques
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
