Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a senior, partner-level Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic family law section. This position offers the opportunity to handle high-net-worth divorce cases, complex custody matters, pre- and post-marital property agreements, protective orders, and modifications. The ideal candidate will emphasize peaceful resolutions, mediation, and settlement, while being ready for courtroom litigation when necessary. Experience in managing people and firm business leadership is a plus.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive family law solutions, including divorce, child custody, property division, and post-marital agreements.
  • Advocate for clients in high-conflict and high-net-worth family law cases.
  • Lead and manage complex family law matters from start to finish.
  • Participate in mediation and settlement negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain courtroom readiness for contested cases when necessary.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and assist in managing the family law department.
  • Actively contribute to business development, including identifying new client opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships.

Requirements:

  • JD granted in 2018 or earlier.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Bar.
  • Extensive experience handling family law matters in North Texas counties (Collin, Denton, Dallas, Tarrant).
  • Proven ability to originate new business through networking, community engagement, and referrals.
  • Experience in high-asset divorce cases, complex property division, and high-conflict custody matters.
  • People management and leadership experience is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate and client-centered approach to legal practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Board certification in family law is a plus but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Expertise in high-net-worth divorce and complex custody matters.
  • Ability to manage complex family law litigation from inception to resolution.
  • Excellent client communication, networking, and business development abilities.
  • Courtroom experience and litigation skills.
