Job Title: Junior Energy Transactional Associate
Location: Houston, New York, or Washington .
Experience: 2-3 years
Salary: $225,000 to $250,000

Steptoe LLP, a leading law firm, is seeking highly qualified attorneys with 2-3 years of experience in Energy & Infrastructure transactions to join our team in Houston, New York, or Washington . Our energy attorneys represent a diverse range of clients in the US and international energy markets, including sponsors, developers, lenders, and investors. We handle all aspects of energy projects and offer hands-on legal work and opportunities for growth and development at every stage of your career.

As a Junior Energy Transactional Associate, you will work closely with our experienced team on financing and private M&A transactions. Experience in project and energy financing or energy and infrastructure-related M&A is preferred, and familiarity with sustainability-linked and green loan principles-aligned structures is a plus. The ideal candidate will also have experience in tax equity and/or IRA credits. We are looking for candidates who are ready to take on responsibility and thrive in a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Responsibilities:
- Work on financing and private M&A transactions
- Assist with project and energy financing
- Collaborate with team members
- Conduct legal research
- Draft legal documents and agreements

Qualifications:

- Admission to the New York, District of Columbia, or Texas Bar
- 2-3 years of experience in Energy & Infrastructure transactions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with project finance structures
- Experience with tax equity and/or IRA credits is a plus
