A law firm located in Saugerties, New York, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Attorney to join their team. The position involves a variety of legal tasks, including legal research and writing, drafting documents, conducting discovery, taking depositions, and representing clients in State and Federal courts across New York State. The ideal candidate will have a strong connection to the Capital Region or Hudson Valley, excellent legal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and writing.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes, including the preparation and response to discovery requests.
• Conduct depositions and witness interviews.
• Appear and advocate in State and Federal courts throughout New York State.
• Maintain detailed case files and manage client communications.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and manage caseloads.
• Stay informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
• Participate in firm meetings, training sessions, and continuing legal education (CLE) opportunities.

Requirements:

• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
• Demonstrated connection and interest in the Capital Region or Hudson Valley of New York.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding oral and written communication and advocacy abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional case and client management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Experience:

Minimum of 1+ years of experience in any of the following areas:

• Personal injury litigation
• Medical malpractice litigation
• Automobile accident litigation
• General liability defense
• Appeals
• Commercial litigation
• Real-estate litigation
• Real-estate acquisitions and sales
• Trusts and estates
• Complex litigation

Certifications:

Licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
