Type: Per Lambda Legal's Work From Home (WFH) Policy, Work From Office (WFO) and WFH options are available with supervisor approval. Requires readily covering in-person activities including meeting with staff, institutional partners and sponsors, and other in-person activities.

Annual Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

Travel: Up to 20%

Deputy Legal Director for Legal Education and Public Engagement

As the Deputy Legal Director for Legal Education and Public Engagement, you will have the opportunity to lead and expand Lambda Legal's impact through overseeing the Legal Help Desk, research and publication of legal educational materials, and partnerships with pro bono law firms. You will also serve as a senior leader in the Legal Department, supporting the professional development and equitable management of all staff.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the management of Lambda Legal's Help Desk, providing information and resources to thousands of individuals annually.
- Conduct research and prepare educational materials in collaboration with the Communications Department.
- Supervise the Senior Counsel and Pro Bono Relationships Director, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations and fostering partnerships with pro bono attorneys.
- Serve as a leader in the Legal Department, supporting department-wide work and projects and promoting a team-oriented, inclusive culture.

Qualifications:

- required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a legal setting, with at least 10 years in team leadership.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with multi-state legal practice and compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
- Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and manage competing priorities with grace and good humor.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
