A law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney or Of Counsel for their Chattanooga location. The ideal candidate will be academically distinguished with excellent writing and analytical skills, ready to assume responsibility in a very active practice. This role offers participation in building the existing practice, significant client contact, and the opportunity to move into a leadership role in the long term.

 

Job Overview:

  • Participate in building the existing tax practice.
  • Maintain significant client contact.
  • Transition into a leadership role within the firm over time.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to tax law and estate planning matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, and estate plans.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding tax planning strategies.
  • Represent clients in tax audits and disputes with tax authorities.
  • Assist with business succession planning and asset protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate or better in Law.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in estate planning.
  • Strong understanding of tax law and regulations.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Admission to the State Bar (or willingness to become admitted).
