A law firm in San Francisco, CA is seeking a talented Regulatory Associate Attorney to join their team. This role will focus on provider reimbursement issues, Medicare and Medicaid appeals, and audits and internal investigations, supporting the firm’s sophisticated regulatory and reimbursement practices. The ideal candidate will bring outstanding academic credentials, superior writing and advocacy skills, and a strong interest in health law and policy. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases and contribute to the firm’s specialized practice in a dynamic legal environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Address provider reimbursement issues, including managing appeals related to Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Conduct audits and internal investigations to ensure regulatory compliance and address legal challenges.
  • Support the firm’s regulatory and reimbursement practices through detailed legal research and analysis.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents such as briefs, motions, and reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys across different offices to coordinate legal strategies and client representation.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet client and firm needs.
  • Engage in complex and interesting cases, contributing to the firm’s expertise in health care law.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and provide insights on evolving health care regulations and policies.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in regulatory or health law, with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Superior writing, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Strong interest in health law and policy.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work collaboratively with attorneys across offices.
  • Judicial clerkship experience or relevant government service is highly desirable.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar (California preferred).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of health care regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid policies.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and advocacy skills.
