Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a skilled and motivated Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team. The firm handles a variety of criminal cases and is looking for an attorney with experience in criminal defense and fluency in Spanish. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple cases at various stages of the criminal process, providing high-quality representation to clients in need.

Duties:

• Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including investigations, pre-trial motions, and trials.
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure they are informed of case developments.
• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients in criminal law matters.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and legal briefs.
• Collaborate with legal team members to ensure a thorough and efficient defense strategy.
• Attend hearings and court proceedings as necessary.
• Maintain a manageable caseload while ensuring timely progress in each matter.
• Uphold the firm’s commitment to providing quality legal representation to clients.

Requirements:

• Fluency in Spanish (required).
• Admitted to practice law in Maryland (required); admission to Virginia Bar (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in criminal defense, including case management and trial preparation.
• Ability to handle a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar (required).
• Admission to the Virginia Bar (preferred).

Skills:

• Spanish fluency (required).
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• In-depth understanding of criminal law and procedures.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
