Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a solid background in Elder Law, Trusts & Estates to join their team. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal matters related to estate planning, probate, and Medicaid. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in these areas and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. A focus on high-quality legal work and client communication is essential for this position.

Duties:

  • Perform comprehensive legal research to inform case strategy and preparation.
  • Draft, review, and revise key legal documents, such as Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and Probate petitions.
  • Support clients through various legal processes, including estate planning, Medicaid planning, and probate/estate administration.
  • Represent clients at court hearings and in client meetings, offering expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases.
  • Ensure all case files and documentation are organized and compliant with firm standards.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations pertaining to Elder Law and Trusts & Estates.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Elder Law, Trusts & Estates, or related practice areas.
  • Proficient in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicaid law, estate planning, and guardianship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
