Duties

  • Handle a full caseload of workers' compensation defense matters.

  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other filings.
  • Maintain thorough and organized case files within a fully paperless system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and legal support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Proactively identify and resolve legal issues related to workers’ compensation defense.
  • Ensure adherence to all court deadlines and firm standards for client communication and case progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing workers' compensation defense law.
  • Strong understanding of California workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize a demanding caseload.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness to client inquiries and case developments.
  • Proficiency with electronic document management and case management software.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
