Job Summary:

Hennessy & Roach, . is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys in the preparation and defense of worker’s compensation cases. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of Administrative Assistant experience in a corporate or legal office, working knowledge of legal rules and procedures, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

- Keep cases organized by establishing, organizing, and maintaining files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software.
- Develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case, scheduling depositions, assisting with discovery requests and responses, requesting medical records, scheduling IMEs, preparing, and filing pleadings.
- Enhance hearing preparations and proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed.
- Transcribe dictation, complete daily mailings, maintain firm calendar, and coordinate court appearances and out of town travel.
- Accomplish organization goals, accept new and different requests, and explore opportunities to add value to efficiency and effectiveness of job responsibilities.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- 2+ years of Administrative Assistant experience supporting corporate or legal office in an administrative capacity.
- Working knowledge of legal rules and procedures.
- Microsoft Word experience required; Excel and PowerPoint experience preferred.
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent telephone, writing, and proofreading skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Must be able to work as part of a team, too independently.
- Organization, Planning, Attention to Detail, and Dependability.
