Job Description:

- Provide pre-trial and trial support for litigated matters of moderate to high complexity
- Assist in the preparation, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas
- Review and prepare documents for document production requests
- Analyze and respond to incoming discovery
- Review and analyze medical records
- Conduct legal research and writing assignments
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings, and communicate with clients and expert witnesses
- Provide administrative support to trial team(s) including document retrieval and exhibit preparation
- Understand and maintain confidentiality in respect to attorney-client privilege/relationship and trial strategies
- Have in-depth knowledge of assigned case files and assist in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Coordinate workflow and support overall litigation strategy
- Assist in training and mentoring new and less experienced paralegals and legal assistants
- Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

- Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance, or related area preferred
- Certification in paralegal studies strongly preferred or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably with insurance defense litigation experience
- General knowledge of law office operations, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with filing and scheduling procedures of various courts and e-filing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Independent and resourceful
- Knowledge of insurance practice and civil defense preferred
- Complies with corporate and NTD policies and procedures
- Complies with ethical rules of state where position is located
