Overview:
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a global law firm with offices across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Patent Agent and/or Technical Specialist to join their Intellectual Property Practice Group. This individual will work with a team of experienced partners to prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office, while also engaging in practice development activities and providing high-quality legal services to domestic and foreign clients.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO
- Conduct prior art searches and analysis
- Analyze scientific or technical documents to assess patentability, novelty, and inventiveness
- Engage in practice development activities to build and maintain client relationships
- Assist in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projects
- Instruct local counsel for foreign filings and Office Actions
- Convert provisional applications into utility applications
- Convert foreign filed applications into US applications and vice versa
- Study and analyze scientific or technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to assess patentability, novelty and inventiveness

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or graduate degree) in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience prosecuting or examining patent applications in the electrical arts, preferably display and battery technology and optics
- Registered to practice before the USPTO or eligible to sit for the patent agent exam
- Excellent writing and research abilities
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills
