Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant - Louisville

Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Litigation practice department in Louisville. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with at least 3 years of experience working as a Legal Administrative Assistant in a sophisticated Litigation practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal process and terminology, and experience with contract and commercial disputes, products liability and mass tort, and/or employment litigation is a plus.

The role will involve traditional LAA responsibilities such as preparing legal documents, electronic filings, client management, billing, time entry, formatting, proofreading and editing, and making travel arrangements. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic, and has advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain positive communication with clients, attorneys, and staff in a large law firm environment
- Prepare and process documents, including electronic filings
- Manage schedules and calendars for multiple attorneys and transactions, and track critical dates
- Open new client matters and maintain accurate information in case management system
- Meet client deadlines and adapt to industry changes
- Ensure timely delivery of mail and other correspondence
- Proofread legal documents as required
- Provide support to attorneys in a fast-paced, high volume atmosphere
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

- 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably with experience in contract and commercial disputes, products liability and mass tort, and/or employment litigation
- Strong understanding of the legal process and terminology, and knowledge of rules and procedures of state, federal, and appellate courts
- Excellent computer and technical skills, and effective communication skills
- Attention to detail and superior proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong multitasking and time management skills
- Familiarity with Partner level communication styles and expectations
- Quick learner with a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow within the practice group
