Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an associate-level attorney to join its long-term care and health care teams. The attorney will focus on regulatory and risk-management issues related to licensing, survey and certification, compliance, contract reviews, and other health law matters. While experience in health care law is preferred, the firm is open to candidates eager to grow in this dynamic field. The position offers a hybrid remote work opportunity, providing flexibility in work location while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on key long-term care and health law issues such as licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and CON issues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by offering proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development efforts to expand the firm's health care practice.
  • Keep up to date with evolving health care laws and regulations, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to provide comprehensive legal support.
  • Meet the required minimum of 1800 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in corporate or litigation law; health care experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong candidates with less experience but a passion for health care law will also be considered.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Must hold a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with the Bar.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workload and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to quickly process and absorb new information.
  • A high standard of performance, professionalism, and responsibility.
  • Must exhibit a positive, flexible attitude and work well with diverse teams.
  • Military experience is welcomed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required.
  • Ability to waive into other jurisdictions preferred.
