Job Overview:

A law firm in Uniondale, NY, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Tort and Insurance Defense Associate Attorney. This role requires at least 2+ years of experience in tort and insurance defense litigation, including specific expertise in defending Child Victims Act cases. The ideal candidate will possess professional, solid judgment, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage instances independently and handle immediate client interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in tort and insurance defense litigation matters.
• Defend cases under the Child Victims Act.
• Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, including client contact and case strategy.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend and represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Provide expert legal advice and counsel to clients.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop legal strategies and case management plans.
• Stay updated on legal developments and tort and insurance defense law changes.

Requirements:

• JD degree with excellent academic credentials.
• Admission to the New York Bar.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in tort and insurance defense litigation.
• Demonstrated experience defending Child Victims Act cases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proactive, resourceful, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• New York Bar Admission is required.
