Location: Any Shutts office, with time spent in Miami office as needed

Position Summary

Shutts & Bowen is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate or Partner to join its Private Client Services Practice Group. While the candidate can be based out of any Shutts location, they must be willing to spend time in the Miami office. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of experience in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, estate and trust administration, and other related services for individuals, charitable organizations, foundations, and corporate fiduciaries such as banks and trust companies. International estate planning experience is a plus. The attorney will work closely with a Partner who is Florida Bar Board Certified in Wills, Trusts, and Estates. A LLM in Tax or Estate Planning is preferred, but not required. The candidate must be a member of the Florida Bar or willing to become one.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality legal services to clients in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift taxation, estate and trust administration, and other related services
- Collaborate with a Partner who is Florida Bar Board Certified in Wills, Trusts, and Estates to handle complex cases
- Work with a diverse range of clients including individuals, charitable organizations, foundations, and corporate fiduciaries
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in estate planning laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met

Requirements

- 5-15 years of experience in estate planning and related services
- Strong understanding of estate planning laws and regulations
- Experience with estate and gift taxation, estate and trust administration, and international estate planning is preferred
- LLM in Tax or Estate Planning is a plus
- Member of the Florida Bar or willing to become one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
