Perkins Coie LLP is a prestigious law firm that is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our team as a Patent Prosecution Paralegal Assistant. This role will primarily involve providing administrative support to designated attorneys, paralegals, and clients, as well as promoting and maintaining the goodwill and reputation of the firm. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

As a member of the Perkins Coie LLP professional support staff team, the Patent Prosecution Paralegal Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality. This includes learning and applying new skills to legal assignments, interacting with all levels of firm personnel with professionalism and tact, and understanding professional responsibility requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Begin and apply training related to patent prosecution procedures and rules
- Draft reporting to clients for paralegal review and comments
- Draft . patent prosecution documents for paralegal review and comments
- Conduct patent searches for . and international patents and publications
- Update client records (physical and electronic)
- Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and multiple paralegals
- Learn and apply new skills to legal assignments
- Interact with all levels of firm personnel with professionalism and tact
- Communicate accurately with paralegals and attorneys
- Apply good judgment and discretion to a variety of situations
- Express self effectively, both orally and in writing
- Utilize standard MS Office applications
- Conduct internet research
- Understand and efficiently complete basic legal tasks under the supervision of paralegals
- Uphold the firm's values of collaboration, devotion to serving clients, and mutual respect

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- One year of patent prosecution experience is a strong plus
- Self-motivated, dedicated, and high degree of integrity
- Enthusiasm for work
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Solid knowledge of standard MS Office applications
- Strong internet research skills
- Capacity to understand and efficiently complete basic legal tasks
- Understanding of professional responsibility requirements
