Venable LLP Seeks IP Litigation Associate with Technical Background

Venable LLP is a leading American Lawyer Global 100 law firm headquartered in Washington, . with offices in California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New York, and Virginia. The firm’s Intellectual Property Group is seeking a midlevel patent litigation associate with a minimum of five years of experience to join the practice in the Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, or Washington, . office.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school


• Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar


• Background in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field


• Experience in all phases of patent litigation, including first-chairing depositions, writing expert reports, drafting and arguing motions, drafting infringement/invalidity concerns, and arguing appeals


• Industry experience is beneficial


• Client focus areas for this role include telecommunications, automotive and other high tech industries

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for associate positions is $205,000 to $365,000, depending upon associate level. Venable LLP also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) retirement plans.
