Salary range: $150,000-$200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Bonus potential: Up to 20% of salary based on individual and company performance

Job Title: Associate General Counsel

Experience Information:

Minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure

Experience managing outside counsel is strongly preferred

Experience working in the commercial, individual market

Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA)

Experience working with Operations and managing relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies

Familiarity with provider contracting and network adequacy

Familiarity working with Executive Leadership and Government Relations

Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and recommendations for initiatives and projects developed in response to clients' overall objectives and needs

Focus on large-scale and/or high financial-level projects with broad department and/or organizational impact and moderate level of risk

Work as a strategic partner and decision-maker with more senior leaders

Manage work independently

Apply knowledge of one or more legal specialties with sound business acumen and knowledge of the business goals and objectives

Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate legal projects

Contribute to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department

Use professional legal concepts and principles to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles

Provide instructions to junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management

Routinely work on complex problems in which analysis of situations and/or facts require an in-depth evaluation of various factors

Serve as a resource for other attorneys and paralegals as well as business clients instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues

Assess and mitigate risk

Report to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized

Requirements:

JD degree and current license to practice law

Minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure

Preferred experience managing outside counsel, working in the commercial, individual market, and with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA)

Familiarity with provider contracting and network adequacy

Familiarity working with Operations and managing relationships with state and federal regulatory agencies

Familiarity working with Executive Leadership and Government Relations
