Job Overview:
An esteemed law firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to join its Long-Term Care/Health Care team. The firm is seeking a professional to work on regulatory and risk-management issues within the long-term care and health care sectors, such as licensing, certification, compliance, contract reviews, ALJ appeals, and changes of ownership. The ideal candidate will have a passion for health care law and a desire to develop expertise in this evolving field. Experience in health law is preferred but not required, as the firm is committed to supporting and training candidates with strong potential.

Location:

  • Uniondale, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on key health care law areas such as licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and Certificate of Need (CON) issues.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by providing proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives to expand the health care practice.
  • Stay updated on evolving health care laws and regulations, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership and insights.
  • Collaborate across departments to provide comprehensive legal support.
  • Meet the firm's minimum billable hours requirement of 1800 hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate or litigation law; health care experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong candidates with less experience and a passion for health care law will also be considered.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions preferred.
  • Must have a Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to absorb and process new information quickly.
  • Professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude.

  • Military experience is welcome.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:
