Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research using online databases, case law, statutes, and legal publications to support attorneys in addressing complex family and matrimonial law issues
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards
- Manage and organize case files, both electronic and physical, by cataloging documents, maintaining records, and implementing efficient filing systems
- Act as a liaison between the firm, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, effectively communicating case updates and scheduling matters
- Prepare exhibits, deposition summaries, trial binders, and other trial materials, compiling evidence and documentation to assist attorneys during hearings and trials
- Coordinate scheduling logistics for client meetings, court appearances, depositions, and other appointments
- Participate in case strategy meetings, offering valuable insights and research-based recommendations to assist attorneys in formulating effective legal strategies
- Stay informed about developments in family law statutes, rules, and trends to inform case strategy decisions
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, timekeeping, and correspondence with a commitment to confidentiality
- Foster a collaborative work environment by engaging with colleagues and contributing to the overall success of the firm's legal practice

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm, preferably in family and matrimonial law
- Proficiency in legal research methods and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal software applications
- Strong collaborative skills and a "can-do" attitude
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of legal software and a multi-line phone system preferred
- Understanding of court deadlines and the ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
- Experience in drafting matrimonial documents
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to work independently and take direction in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
