H2: Essential Job Functions

Essential Job Functions:

- Represent FINRA in complex disciplinary proceedings.
- Represent FINRA in non-disciplinary hearings and litigation.
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents.
- Provide guidance and advice to Member Supervision and Member Application Program.
- Oversee pre-hearing tasks and ensure team members are adequately prepared.
- Conduct litigation consults and counsel staff on potential litigation concerns.
- Conduct legal research and prepare advocacy documents.
- Negotiate settlements with respondents and their attorneys.
- Collaborate with staff across FINRA as appropriate.

- Work on special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience.
- First-chair trial experience.
- Excellent litigation, oral, and written communication skills.

Work Conditions:

- Work outside of business hours and overnight travel may be required.

Time Off and Paid Leave:

- 15 days of paid time off, 5 personal days, and 9 sick days (pro-rated in first year).
- 2 volunteer service days.
- Other paid leave includes military leave, jury duty leave, bereavement leave, voting and election official leave, care of a family member leave, and childbirth and parental leave.
- Full-time employees receive 9 paid holidays.
