A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced, diligent, and proactive Government Contracts Associate to join its growing and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracts law, including experience with bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, claims analysis, and federal subcontracting issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 4-5 years of experience who is looking to take their career to the next level in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Duties

  • Manage and advise on bid protests and cybersecurity issues.
  • Ensure compliance with acquisition regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Draft REAs (Requests for Equitable Adjustment) and claims, providing related claims analysis and counseling.
  • Handle CDA (Contract Disputes Act) claim litigation.
  • Address federal subcontracting issues, including disputes and flow-down/compliance matters.
  • Work on multiple award contracts and small business procurement regulations.
  • Contribute to written and oral thought leadership.
  • Participate in client development efforts and business growth activities.

Requirements

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in government contracts law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and legal research skills.
  • Experience with bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, and claims analysis.
  • Familiarity with aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently on certain matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in litigation is preferred.
  • Virginia State Bar admission is highly preferred.
