A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with at least 6 years of substantive experience in practicing commercial/civil litigation, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, real estate, or business/family law. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a reasonable docket of cases, advocating for clients in various forums, and ensuring compliance with legal deadlines. Exceptional communication, research, and drafting skills are crucial, and the candidate must be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

 

Job Details:

  • Ensure adherence to deadlines imposed by law, courts, or agreements.
  • Manage a docket of litigation or transactional cases from intake to archival.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop winning case strategies.
  • Advocate for clients in depositions, negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials (Zoom, phone, in-person).
  • Draft, edit, assemble, and e-file pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, etc.
  • Strategically request and respond to discovery requests.
  • Research and analyze the law, applying it to the facts and crafting compelling narratives.
  • Regularly and timely communicate with internal and external stakeholders via various channels.
  • Assist teammates with non-billable special projects.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • 6+ years of substantive experience practicing commercial/civil litigation, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, real estate, or business/family law.
  • In good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication, research, and drafting skills.
  • Proficient in handling cases from intake to archival.
  • Ability to collaborate and develop winning case strategies.
