Paralegal Specialist
A paralegal in the State Attorney’s Office is responsible for performing routine paralegal assignments in support of the attorneys. A successful paralegal knows what needs to be done and does it before being asked. A paralegal in the State Attorney’s Office must have organizational, computer, and analytical skills, and display objectivity, commitment, responsibility and reliability.
Duties include:

Legal research, including compiling, analyzing, and summarizing legal opinions and other legal material
Examining legal instruments or other documents to ensure completeness and accuracy, as well as conformance to applicable laws, rules, precedents and office requirements
Assisting in case preparation for criminal law proceedings or agency hearings
Directly interacting with victims and witnesses of crimes throughout the course of cases
Interviewing and taking sworn affidavits from citizens or police officers and recommending possible courses of action to superiors

Minimum Training and Experience:

Graduation from a two-year program of study in paralegal studies or a four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
