A law firm in Daytona Beach, FL, seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will represent clients in court or before government agencies, prepare and draft legal documents, negotiate settlements, and ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations. The candidate should have significant experience defending personal injury actions and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
• Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
• Handle personal injury actions from case inception through trial.
• Demonstrate previous first chair trial experience.
• Manage cases involving insurance defense law practice.
• Apply a solid working knowledge of Florida and Federal civil practice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar.
• Proven experience in insurance defense law practice.
• Previous first chair trial experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Florida and Federal rules of civil procedure, court deadlines, civil filing procedures, and e-filing.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with close attention to detail.
• Proficiency in case management software such as Perfect Law, AIM, or similar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, professional staff, and peers.
