As a leading law firm in Sonoma County, we specialize in business and commercial litigation and are currently working on a high-profile case involving the drafting of Sonoma County's Industrial Hemp Ordinance. About The Firm: - Leading law firm in Sonoma County - Specializes in business and commercial litigation - Currently working on a high-profile case involving the drafting of Sonoma County's Industrial Hemp Ordinance - Dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to clients Pro Bono: - Strong commitment to pro bono work and giving back to the community Job Details: Position: Litigation Paralegal Department: Legal Team Responsibilities and Duties: - Conduct legal research - Draft initial pleadings, motions and e-filing with the court - Assist attorneys with drafting, and responding to, interrogatories and other discovery requests - Prepare documents for production to the opposing party and handle documents produced by the opposing party - Prepare summaries of responses to written discovery and summarize deposition testimony - Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices, including all electronic files - Coordinate between the client and attorney for gathering documents and information requests - Perform administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage discovery deadlines, and more - Schedule mediations and keep all parties up to date - Coordinate with court coordinators regarding setting in person and virtual hearings - Maintain routine communications with clients and attorneys about case status and preparation - Provide exceptional customer service with compassion and professionalism - General office administrative and coordination responsibilities, as needed Qualifications: - Minimum of 10 years of working experience as a Paralegal - Paralegal Certificate (Highly Preferred), Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) - E-filing experience required - Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, and more, especially in business or commercial litigation - Ability to assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery and motions - Self-Starter with the Ability to Multi-Task - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Results-oriented team player - Finely tuned analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze a multitude of legal documents - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work in a collaborative work environment - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, MacOS, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software such as One Legal, Rapid Legal, LawToolBox, and WestLaw Highlights of Benefit Package: - Competitive salary with salary requirements - Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance - 401(k) with Employer Match - LTD and Life Insurance - Paid Holidays - Paid Time Off How to Apply: If you have the required qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please email your resume and cover letter with salary requirements to the email provided.
