A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced, diligent, and proactive Government Contracts Associate to join its growing and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in government contracts law, with a focus on bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, claims analysis, federal subcontracting, and small business procurement. Duties

  • Handle bid protests, cybersecurity issues, and acquisition regulation compliance (FAR, DFARS).
  • Draft REAs (Requests for Equitable Adjustment) and claims, and provide claims analysis and counseling.
  • Manage CDA (Contract Disputes Act) claim litigation.
  • Address federal subcontracting disputes, flow-down/compliance issues, and multiple award contracts.
  • Advise on small business procurement regulations and compliance.
  • Work independently on certain matters, as appropriate, while collaborating with a dynamic team.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and client development through written and oral contributions.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in government contracts law, preferably within a law firm setting.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and legal research skills.
  • Experience with bid protests, cybersecurity, FAR and DFARS compliance, and claims analysis.
  • Familiarity with aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Experience in litigation and dispute resolution is a plus.
  • Virginia State Bar admission is highly preferred.

Education

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar (Virginia preferred).
