In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch legal support for some of PayPal's largest and most strategic merchant and partner deals. With a mission to revolutionize commerce globally, PayPal is looking for a confident and skilled individual to negotiate complex transactions with global partners and merchants. Your day-to-day will involve drafting and negotiating multinational agreements, coordinating cross-functionally within PayPal to develop deal strategies, and providing innovative legal advice. This role requires someone with exceptional writing skills and a critical eye for risk and regulatory issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology, licensing, and payment/financial services, and be able to effectively navigate legal, compliance, and business needs. As a Sr. Legal Counsel at PayPal, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact by managing large deal closings and directly negotiating with external parties. You will also work closely with various internal stakeholders such as sales, privacy, product, and regional counsel. This role requires someone who is a self-starter, has strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and can build credibility with business partners. To be successful in this role, you will need a Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree, at least 8 years of experience practicing in-house or at a law firm, and at least 2 years of experience managing large deal closings. You should also have experience negotiating complex sales, marketing, or partner agreements and working with multiple stakeholders. PayPal is looking for someone who is detail-oriented, creative, and has hands-on experience in financial services, fintech, or technology companies.
